Rodney Stone Obituary
A memorial service in his honor will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Pine Grove Baptist Church on Green Valley Road. The Rev. Kenneth Jacobs and Jay Beggs will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church Friday for an hour prior to the memorial.
Rod was a 1988 graduate of Etowah High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in football and baseball. He was employed with Honda for 15 years in the paint department. He will be greatly missed by his family members and friends. Those preceding him in death include his mother, Sherry Ann Baker, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Collins and Jeddie and Pauline Stone.
He is survived by:
His father, Bobby R. Stone.
Brother, Robbie Cain (Lisa) Stone.
Nephews, Dillon and Colton Stone.
Along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be the fellow employees in the Paint Department of Honda and Etowah High School Class of 1988.

I watched Rod and my brother grow up together... Rod, Robbie, Matt, and I played ball together our entire lives.... This is a very sad sad loss, Rod you were always the KOOLEST!!! I will forever miss you my brother!!!!

My heart is broken to see another former student that has passed away. I taught Rod in the 5th grade. His family were very special to me. Loved him. God be with his family during this sad time.
