Gaffney, SC - Billy Wayne Kearse, 72, of 119 Scruggs Trail, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late William Kearse and Louise Jones Kearse. He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired from textiles. Mr. Kearse was an avid fisherman, loved his furbaby, "Baby Boy" and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is a son, Billy James Kearse (Shae) of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Jeannie Elm (Ivy) of Gaffney; two brothers, Dennis Kearse (Pam) and Mike Kearse (Doris), both of Gaffney; a sister, Vee Robinson of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Michael Scott Roth, Jacob Michael Roth (Katie), Michaela Roth, Kara Elm, Dallas Kearse, Ethan Kearse, Korbyn Kearse and Tanner Hutchins; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Kearse was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Kearse.
A memorial service will be held at later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1905.
The family will be at their respective homes.
