Gaffney, SC - Charles Jeffers Osment, 70, of 1486 Burnt Gin Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Oscar Junior Osment and Dorothy Estelle Erwin Osment. He was self-employed in construction and was a member of Blue Branch Baptist Church. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing, playing the bass guitar and singing.
Surviving is a daughter, Karen Farmer (Ryan) of Gaffney; a brother, James J. Osment of Gaffney; a sister, Elaine White (Buddy) of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Heather Childers, Steven Porter (Elizabeth), Dylan Harris, Jordan Farmer and Taylor Farmer; six great-grandchildren, Kaden & Kenzie Childers, Piper Walker, Levi & Lillie Porter and Klaus Farmer; three nieces, Kim Freeman (Kenny), Wanda Blackwell (Edward) and Jane Fowler, all of Gaffney; two nephews, Ryan Osment (Jerica) and Steven McCraw (Tonya), both of Gaffney; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason (J-bo) Osment and his sister-in-law, Peggy Osment.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Blue Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Reverend Eddie Smith and Reverend Clifford Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Blue Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
