Gaffney, SC - Cheryl Crowder Raines, 71, of 608 4th Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Boiling Springs, SC, she was the wife of Richard Lee Raines of the home, and daughter of the late Alvis Crowder and Shirley Moss. She was raised in the home of Richard & Hattie Crowder. Cheryl was a graduate of Broome High School, a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College and retired from textiles. She loved her family, reading, watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Travis Raines and Johnny Crowder-Smith, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Linda Lewis of Spartanburg and Tammy Blackwell of Gaffney; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Crowder, two sons-in-law, Scott Blackwell and Mike Lewis, and a brother, Steve Crowder.
Memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105- 1905.
