Gaffney, S.C. - Horace David "Dave" Bishop, 73, of 112 Eastview Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Eber Hoyt Bishop and Ola Mae Hamrick Bishop. He retired from Timken after 30 years of service, was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He loved his family, fishing, hunting and golfing. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, an avid Gamecock fan and formerly played softball for "Handy Hut".
Surviving are three daughters, Katherine Wallace, Terra Coyle (Matthew) and Allison Hughey, all of Gaffney; a brother, Larry Bishop (Margaret) of Gaffney; two sisters, Martha Wilkie (Don) and Carol Baca (Henry), both of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Causby (Steven), Dale Wallace, Tyler Coyle, Shawn Coyle, Cassidy Coyle, Lily Coyle, Alyssa Hughey and Abbie Faith Hughey; one great-grandchild, Bentley Causby.
Memorial services, with military honors, will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Corinth Baptist Church with Dr. Dwight Easler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Corinth Baptist Church, 190 Corinth Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at the residence.
