Dennis Deaton Obituary
Spartanburg, S.C. - Robert Dennis Deaton, 71, of 3335 Pacolet-Cowpens Highway, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Linda Debruhl Deaton and son of the late John Carl Deaton and Lola Martin Deaton. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Spartanburg Technical College, A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a selfemployed carpenter. He loved hunting and playing softball and was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Robbie Deaton of Pacolet and Todd Deaton and wife, Laura of Gaffney; a daughter, Christie Mullinax and husband, David of Spartanburg; a brother, John Carl Deaton, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Jonesville; two sisters, Christine Swinton and husband, Larry of Spartanburg and Emma Jane Deaton of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Samuel Deaton, Thomas Deaton, Taylor Deaton, Luke Mullinax, Noah Mullinax and Abby Cox.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Saturday, December
22, 2018 at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. Memorial services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Rev. Ralph Jett, Rev. Clifford Phillips and Rev. Dennis Tessnier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Legion Post 109, P.O. Box 1522, Gaffney, SC 29342.
The family will be at the home of Todd and Laura Deaton, 416 Lake Whelchel Drive, Gaffney.
