Faye Scruggs Obituary
Chesnee, SC – Faye Tennyson Scruggs, 75, of 327 Jeremiah Road, entered the arms of her Lord on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Maxton, NC, Faye was the loving wife of Everett Lee Scruggs, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage after their Christmas Eve wedding in 1972. She was the daughter of the late Harold Tennyson and Pattie Jeffries Tennyson. A graduate of Spartanburg High School and Spartanburg Technical College, Faye lived a life centered on faith, family, and service. She was a devoted homemaker, retired substitute teacher, and former organist at Brooklyn Baptist Church, where she was a cherished member.
Faye's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her husband, Everett; her sons, Dale Scruggs of Spartanburg and Chief Warrant Officer Vance Lee Scruggs, U.S. Army retired, and his wife, Lt. Colonel Kim Scruggs of Clarksville, TN; and her daughter, Emilie Walker, and husband, Michael, of Chesnee. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren – Tyler Bailey, Taylor Vassey, Bo Walker, Ryan Walker, Madison Scruggs, Maci Scruggs, Maggie Scruggs, and Everett James Scruggs – and two great-grandchildren, Makrae Vassey and Mila Addis. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Mitchell (Dan) of Boiling Springs, SC, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Tennyson.
Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Brooklyn Baptist Church, followed by a 2:00 PM funeral service led by Dr. Clay Collins and Reverend Jimmy Cox. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
Faye's warmth, faith, and love touched everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion.
