Gaffney, S.C. – LaMona Kay Childers Mullinax, 80, of 203 Northwood Drive, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She passed peacefully with her family by her side at her home.
Born June 29, 1944 in York, SC, she was the widow of the late Walter Mindle Mullinax and daughter of the late Fred Ezekiel Childers and Loma Lee Dillingham Childers. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from textiles and food service, a homemaker and member of True Direction Church of God.
Surviving are five daughters, Renae Bolf (Scott), Menda Gordon (Jack), Tanya Blanton (Scotty), Daphne Mullinax and Tassy Sutton; a granddaughter raised in the home, Angela M. Bolick (Bobby); grandchildren, Devan Bolf (Lindsay), Kayla B. McCraw (Justin), Nicoli Gordon, Rusty Blanton (Kaylyn), Leigh Tate (Josh), Mona Mullinax, Jennifer Owens (Greg) and Eddie Sutton, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Bowen, Banks & Barrett Bolf; Naylei Kay, Wrenslee & Jett McCraw; Kandace & Bobby Bolick, Jr.; Oaklen & Adalie Kaye Blanton; Hayzlee, Autumn & Ridge Owens; baby boy McCraw and baby girl Tate due this year; two brothers, Randy Childers (Jean) and Reverend Alton Childers (Donna); numerous nieces and nephews; special neighbors Chris & Kim Childers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Mullinax Chitwood, a brother, Freddie Lee Childers, and two sisters, Gail C. Sprouse and Phyllis C. Ramsey.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Reverend Stephen Anderson, Dr. Ron Culbertson and Mr. Scott Bolf officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
