Gaffney, SC - Kenneth McClure Jolly, 77, of Gaffney, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the husband of Glenda Martin Jolly, and son of the late Maynard McClure Jolly and Martha Mabry Jolly. He retired from Duke Energy, was a U.S. Army Veteran, a life member of the VFW and a member of West End Baptist Church.
During the Vietnam War, Kenny served as a combat sniper with Delta Company, "No Slack" 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. His valor led to his induction into the Cherokee County Hall of Bravery.
Kenny had a passion for the outdoors and being on the water. He enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving, and fishing, but his true love was shrimping in Bulls Bay, Charleston, SC. His family always looked forward to the holidays, when he'd prepare his famous shrimp dish with his Bulls Bay catch.
Kenny also had a natural talent for woodworking and a love for working with his hands. Over the years, he crafted countless pieces of furniture for his family, and his cabinet-making skills were unmatched.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Danica Alexis Jolly of Blacksburg, SC and Candace Simone Jolly of Charleston, SC; two brothers Melvin Jolly (Joyce) of Blacksburg and Stanley Jolly (Ann) of Gaffney; a great-nephew he loved as a brother, Trexton Jolly of Gaffney, SC and a sister-in-law, Cindy Jolly of Murrells Inlet, SC. In addition to his parents, and his beloved "Granny," Mary Eva Duvall Jolly, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Jolly of Murrells Inlet, SC and Jimmy Jolly of Blacksburg, SC.
The family will honor Kenny's wishes by holding a private ceremony at his favorite shrimping spot in Charleston, SC.
