Gaffney, SC - Larry Wilson Jackson, 79, of 148 Meadow Wood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Summerville, GA, he was the husband of Virginia Gale Smith Jackson and son of the late Woodrow Wilson Jackson and Louise Jordon Jackson and step-son of the late Kathleen Jackson. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, retired from textiles and Cook Insurance. Upon retirement he enjoyed his pontoon boat on Lake Sinclair, working in his yard, tinkering in his workshop, cheering on Georgia Tech and begrudgingly cheering for Georgia, Clemson and USC, due to his loving family. Mr. Jackson attended Buford Street United Methodist Church and a member of Serendipity Sunday Class.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Larry Todd Jackson of Plano, TX and Monte Eugene Jackson (Lisa) of Marietta, GA; a brother, Randy Scott Jackson (Dianne) of Dublin, GA; half-sister, Kathy Sullivan of Macon, GA; two grandchildren, Walker Jackson and Shane Jackson and two step-grandchildren, Demetri Peralta and Alex Peralta. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00AM on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Buford Street United Methodist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00AM at church with Reverend Dave Nichols officiating.
