Gaffney, SC - Major James William Allison, 70, of 1439 Macedonia Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Major Lois Soles Allison for 50 years and son of the late Claude Allison and Lola Humphries Allison. He retired as Major of The Salvation Army after 48 years of service and after retirement served in pastoral care in the Potomac and ALM Division. He was a member of The Salvation Army Church in Gaffney and a member of the Kawanis Club in Virginia. He loved his family and was an avid UNC Tar Heel, Gaffney Indian and Pittsburgh Steeler's fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Katrina A. Wilson (Stephen) of Gaffney and Paula A. Leister (Wayne) of Lancaster; a sister, Kay Frady of Gaffney; two grandchildren, James Wilson and Preston Leister.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at The Salvation Army Church in Gaffney. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at the Church with Major Chris Flanagan and Major Donnie Duhmann officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Salvation Army, 601 Colonial Avenue, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at the residence, 1439 Macedonia Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
