Boiling Springs, SC - - Nancy Amelia Brandt Smith, 79, of 256 Cassingham Lane, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
Born in Sacramento, CA, she was the companion/ partner of Richard Goerner, the widow of the late Amzie Smith, and daughter of the late David Samuel Brandt, Sr. and Mildred McCarthy Brandt. She retired from Military Exchange Service and was of the Catholic faith. She loved her family, square dancing, traveling, especially camping, and enjoyed Navy ship reunions with the USS Brinbridge Association.
She is also survived by two sons, William David Greenleaf, III (Tracy) of Blacksburg and Sean P. McKenna (Jocelyn) of Virginia; a daughter, Kelly Comber (Kevin) of Cummings, GA; a brother, David Brandt (Kathleen) of California; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert P. Greenleaf II, a sister and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
The family will be at their respective homes.
