Gaffney, SC - Philip Dean "Pete" Garner, 62, of 370 Garner Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his home.
Born in Gaffney, he was first married to the late Barbara Henderson Garner and the husband of Renee Roberts Garner and the son of the late James Frederick Garner and Ethel D. "Deanie" Mc- Cullough Garner. He was a 1977 graduate of Gaffney High School, an avid Gaffney High Indian Fan and was an excellent mechanic. He was retired from M & E Fabrication, enjoyed gardening, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, riding tractors and loved his furbaby, "Sugar Bear". Pete was a faithful member of North Point Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, also surviving is a stepdaughter, Nicole Camp (Greg) of Spartanburg; a brother, Ted Garner (Wanda) of Gaffney; a sister, Jane Garner Fagan (Jim) of Gaffney; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Garner was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Miranda Ware Pierce.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at North Point Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Phillips and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.
Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC.
