Mr. Theodore William Littlejohn, known as "Ted" Littlejohn and also known as "Ted Peeler", age 68, of 209 3rd Avenue, Gaffney, South Carolina, answered the Master's call on Tuesday afternoon, September 26, 2017, at 12:53 p.m. at Mary Black Health System, Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Son of the late Grady Peeler and the late Vernie Mae Littlejohn Carpenter, he was a native of Cherokee County, South Carolina. He was reared by his father and step-mother, the late Grady and Bessie Peeler. At an early age he joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church. In 1968 he graduated from Granard High School. He was last employed at Budget Roofing. He was a United States Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Richard Littlejohn and Mr. John Peeler; three sisters, Ms. Carolyn Carpenter, Ms. Sarah Wood and Ms. Frances Littlejohn; and two grandchildren, Infant Darren Smith and Infant Trelynn Sutton.
Left to cherish his memories are: five daughters, Mrs. Termeisha Smith (Derrick) of Gastonia, North Carolina, Mrs. Latoya Sutton (Tremayne) of Tyron, North Carolina, Ms. Latorya Davidson of Gaffney, Ms. Tantalus Fair and Ms. Tela Sims, both of Gastonia, North Carolina; her son, Mr. Brandt Davidson of Gaffney; her brother, Mr. Robert Littlejohn of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Mr. Keetier Sims, Sr. (Aaliyah), Octavia Smith, Antoiney Kennedy, Jaiden McGill, Malcom Sims, Jamemanuel Oglesby, Dy'amonta' Sims and Teresa Carter; three great-grandchildren, Darren Sims, Ka'Liyah Sims and Keefier Sims, Jr.; two special nephews, Mr. Tracy Littlejohn of Gaffney and Mr. Scott Littlejohn (Tanill) of Anderson, South Carolina; a host of other nephews and nieces; and many relatives.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 2 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home with Pastor Celina Curry officiating. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery with Military Rites.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his niece, Ms. Terry Wood at 515 East Buford Street, Gaffney.
