Cowpens, SC – Dwight Wayne Spencer, 75, of 910 Corn Mill Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Mary Green Spencer and son of the late John William Henderson and Ruth Gossett Henderson and biological son of the late G. T. Spencer. He retired from Timken, loved his family and fishing, and a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Dwight Spencer, Jr. (Jennifer) of the home; a daughter, Tina Walker (Steve) of Cowpens; several half brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Orchard Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Church with Reverend Roland Dry officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens. Social distancing and masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
The family will be at the residence, 910 Corn Mill Road, Cowpens, SC 29330.
