'DADDY MICK'
Gainesville - Deacon Andrew Richardson Mickle, age 93, Retired Educator, World War II Veteran, 1950 graduate of Bethune-Cookman College, Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, 20-Year Commissioner with the Gainesville Housing Authority, 6-Year Neighborhood Housing Authority member, 35-Year Gardenia Garden Board of Directors member, Pleasant Street Historic Society Board of Directors member, Master Tailor, avid swimmer (eponym of the Andrew R. Mickle Pool under the City of Gainesville Parks & Recreation Department) received his reward for a life well-lived and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at North Florida Regional Medical Center
(Gainesville, Florida).
Deacon Mickle will live on in the hearts of those who loved him most - his beloved family: devoted wife - Catherine Berry-Mickle; three sons - Judge Stephan P. Mickle (Evelyn), Dr. Darryl L. Mickle, Jeffery A. Mickle (Rhonda), (Andrew L. Mickle preceded him in death); daughter-in-law - Yolanda N. Mickle; and as a daughter - Sandra D. Mickle; eight grandchildren - Stephanie M. Mickle, Amy G. Mickle, Stephan P. Mickle, II, As A Granddaughter - Deitra Mickle, Sharron K. Ferguson (Leo Sr.), Yolanda G. Mickle, Catherine D. Mickle, (Patrick Andrew-George Mickle preceded him in death), Cotie W. Jones (Nichelle); six Great-Grandchildren - Gabrielle A. Mickle, Stephan P. Mickle, III, Jaelin S. Jones, Courtney C. Jones, Cotie W. Jones, Jr. and Leo Ferguson, II; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, admiring friends, and a devoted Pet - Phoebe who will also miss him.
