Gainesville - Staff Sergeant Anthony Lee Moore, "Tony", 36, passed away on July 12, 2013 at Ft. Stewart, GA. Anthony was born in Gainesville, Florida on March 11, 1977. He attended Gainesville High School and excelled as an athlete in track and cross country. He joined the U.S. Army in 1996 and served honorably until his passing. During his career he served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He earned many awards and commendations during his service. Most notably he was awarded the Combat Action Badge, three Army Commendation Medals, and five Army Achievement Medals.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Walker; father, Ernest Moore; two brothers, a son, a daughter, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday July 26, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM with full military honors at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609.

I will miss you A. I will never forget our last conversation, you really helped me and I will never forget it. My thought are with the family at this time. Anthony was a special man and I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. Rip my friend.
