CATHERINE KUYKENDALL Obituary

KUYKENDALL, CATHERINE

Mrs. Catherine McClane Kuykendall, 64, of Lake City died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center. A native of Gainesville, FL, Mrs. Kuykendall had lived in Bradenton, FL for twenty years before moving to Lake City in 1996. She graduated from P.K. Younge High School in Gainesville in 1964, and the University of Florida in 1968. She was an ESE teacher at Westside Elementary School and had previously taught at Lake City Middle School. She was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church Choir and enjoyed playing the piano. She was preceded in death by her father T.K. McClane.

Mrs. Kuykendall is survived by her husband, John G. Kuykendall of Lake City; two sons, Brent (Tracy) Kuykendall of Lake City, and Todd (Amy) Kuykendall of Atlanta, GA; her mother, Wilma McClane of Gainesville; five grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, Ben, & Bradley Kuykendall all of Lake City, and Sophia Kuykendall of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Tom (Stevie) McClane of Lakeland, FL, Don (Debbie) McClane of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Scott (Joan) McClane of Colorado Springs, CO.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kuykendall will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Parkview Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Tatem officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkview Baptist Church, 268 NW Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City, FL 32055, or Gideons International, P.O. Box 1805, Lake City, FL 32056-1805.

Mrs.Kuykendall,will be missed by all who knew her.She was my daughters teacher at westside.My daughter, Katherine Bowen said to tell the family that she really enjoyed Mrs Catherine.John,I know your heart is heavy at the moment but rejoice for Mrs K is no longer suffering.In this time of pain and sorrow,remember the good times you shared and always rememnber that you will see her again.She would say rejoice for I am at home and i know peace and love.May the Good Lord Bless and keep each of you in this time of need.
