OWENS, CHARLES W.

Mr. Charles William "C.W." Owens, 85 of Keystone Heights went to be with his Lord on Aug. 23, 2010. He was the only son of Gordie and Charlie Owens whom are both deceased. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. C.W. was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and attended Andrew Jackson High School. He had also served in the Navy during World War II and after his service time he attended Jacksonville Junior College. He retired from the Jacksonville Fire Department after 20 years and started his business, C.W. Owens Pest Control. He was in the pest control business most of his adult life. Being a member of the Rotary Club C.W. was also an active member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. in the Morocco Shrine of Jacksonville for over 30 years. In 1981 C.W. had moved to Keystone Heights and enjoyed the lake life and living in a small rural community. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Fresh Start Fellowship (a non-denominational Christian Church in Keystone Heights.) C.W. and Fran enjoyed many wonderful trips in their motor home all over the U.S. and Canada.

C.W. leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Frances Brown (Prom) Owens, his children, Gloria Ferrell, Sue Owens, Cookie Morton, Phillip Prom (Donna), and Mary E. Mobley (Grant). His grandchildren, Tracey Johnson (Sean), Shannon Krueger (Jeff), Jamie Sessions (Randall), Stephanie Varnes (Matt), John Ross Grace, Kaitlyn Prom, and Jessica Mobley. He was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Cody Sessions, Jodee Sessions, Maddee Sessions, Amanda Johnson, Emily Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Jeffrey Krueger, Jacob Krueger, Kylee Ann Varnes, and Kyndall Nicole Varnes, all a blessing to him.

Funeral services for C.W. will be held on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at 2 O'clock in the Fresh Start Fellowship Church with Pastor Steve Conner officiating. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E. To the family of C.W.Owens - Emory and I are so sorry to hear of the death of C.W. Emory worked with C.W. at the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue. He counted him as one his friends. May the Lord Bless the entire family at this sad time in your lives. But just remember as long you have memory you will always have him in your heart and mind. That is why they are called "Precious Memories"

To the famly of C. W. Owens: Please know we are saddened of the death of C. W. My mother, Mary Alice Williams, had the pleasure of being his secretary/office manager at Owens Pest Control for many, many years. She retired at 80 years old. C. W. was like her son. He was so very good to her and she to him. Thanks, C. W.! She has been gone 25 years today.
May your hearts be comforted at this time of sorrow.
