Clarence McReynolds Obituary
Gainesville - Clarence McReynolds, Sr., age 54, of Gainesville, Florida died on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at his home.
Born January 8, 1967. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Collins.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife; Rosemary McReynolds; three (3) sons; Derrick Collins, Clarence McReynolds, Jr., and Jamal McReynolds, all of Gainesville, FL; one (1) brother; Bryant Jelks (wife Kimberly) of Gainesville, FL; one (1) sister; Jannie Grant (husband Lawrence) of Gainesville, FL; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. McReynolds will be Friday, August 13, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chestnut Memorial Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Highway Church of the Apostolic Faith, 3091 SE Hawthorne Road, Gainesville, FL 32641, with Pastor L.V. McReynolds officiating.
Interment will follow in Grass Lawn Cemetery.
Arrangements Entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, 18 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601 "A CHESTNUT SERVICE"
The Cortege will form at the home of Mrs. Willie Mayes, 6502 NE 27th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609 at 9:15 AM.

The entire time I went to Gainesville High School (20 years ago), Clarence was such a bright spot! His smile and genuine care brightened up my day, no matter what. There were days when he was the only one who noticed me or noticed that I was down and he always, always had a way of making me smile. He cared. High school is a weird time in life and having someone like Clarence being there to encourage and support young people is inspirational. I can honestly say that I genuinely loved Clarence and am thankful to have had him in my life growing up. When I would stop by the school years after graduating, I would circle the campus looking to say "hi", even if he didn´t remember me anymore. Thank you. Thank you to his family for sharing him. Although we´ve never met, my heart goes out to you. I cry along with you and I´ll be praying for you.
