DAVID SHADD Obituary
David Lowell Shadd 34, of Lake Butler passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon at his home . He was born in Gainesville and had lived his entire life in Lake Butler. He was a 1994 Graduate of Union County High School. He was an avid Gator fan attending most of their games., He loved the outdoors, his favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He enjoyed cooking for and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church at Worthington Springs. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Hazel Brannen Shadd.
He is survived by His Father and Stepmother: Craig and Diana Shadd of Lake Butler. His Mother Kathy Holmes of Lake Butler His Brothers: Donald Shadd of Lake Butler; Hazen and J. D. Willis of Alachua; Wendell Rowan of Lake Butler. His Sisters: Jennifer Dampier (Brian) of Alachua; Shara Smith (John) of Lake Butler and Amanda Rowan of Lake Butler. His Paternal Grandparents: Lowell and Paulette Shadd of Lake Butler. His Maternal Grandparents: Capt. U.S.M.C. Retired and Mrs. James D. Holmes of Melrose. Nephews and Nieces: Dalton Dampier; Gavin Smith; Callie Smith; and Cadance Rowan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon March 25, 2010 at 2:00P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Lake Butler. Burial will follow in Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler. Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler is in care of the arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Lake Butler Community Center Wednesday night from 6 to 8 P.M. Family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 S.W. 16th St., Gainesville, FL 32608.

My words here can't express the depths of love I felt for my Nephew.He was such a Good Man.He always made time for our family often and always at every holiday.He loved his Grandmother's cooking, and was always calling her for recipes.
He always called You Kat, and his Grandmother Holmes.He called his brothers and sisters.He called his first cousins and his Aunts. His cellphone had all of those numbers in it and those calls went both ways.The Gator games without Him will never be the same. But I'm so grateful for those beautiful floors He put down in my house.I can look at them every day and remember that Rascal.
Kat- I'm so glad he ate lunch with you and Joe last Friday, and you spoke with him on Sunday morning.Take comfort in those last conversations and remember he was Happy about his new Job and new "lady". He was bringing her to meet his Grandmother...But time just ran out.
Be grateful Uncle Dave went to Dalton's ballgame on Saturday-Jen + Brian...You got to see him at his best.... laughing at Dalton!
He was a loving son,brother,uncle, nephew,cousin...and Gator Fan!
That was who Dave Shadd was.
He will be missed by all the Holmes's and Howard Families.

The Gator games wont be the same without him in those stands cheering for a win. Dave, is the eldest out of the cousins and I'm the youngest. I looked up to him, and he always set a good example for all of us. His death is a tragedy to so many because he has touched so many lives in one way or another. Here's to you Dave, God's newest angel. We love you and will ALWAYS keep you in our hearts.

all my memories of dave are good - he was such a wonderful friend, even to the parents of his friends - he would take my grandson fishing and around to look at the animals and my grandson assured me it was okay 'cause dave knew all the codes - or the time during the year when fires were so bad here, coming to my house in his truck and just waiting in case we got an evacuation notice - even tho i had not seen dave in a while, i knew he was only a phone call away -
my heart just aches for all of you and i will pray for you all

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,

Dear Craig(& Diane),Donald and Shara,
I'm sorry and sad to hear of your loss. I know God sees your tears and He feels your pain. I pray for your comfort and your peace during this sad time. Hang on to the wonderful and beautiful memories that you have,let them take you through tomorrow and everyday. My family and I have some wnoderful memories of Dave when he was young. We(Karen,Tara,Timmy & Ward) spent alot of time with Sherry and the kids,we went to the lake,to football games, pic-nics,to the park, skating,birthday parties,the list goes on.I have beautiful pictures of the wonderful times that we shared.We will have to hang on to our memories too!.I love ya'll!
