Ciao Terry, I am sorry I wasn't able to take you and your music to Italy. I tried, I guess wasn't the right time. For me you are "The Musician" and you will stay in my hearth. as such and a short time friend. Thank you for what you have given to me. Looking forward to see you again. Wingy.

I studied composition with Terry in playa del Rey California. I was so green and he was a fantastic teacher and was an inspiration. I remember him showing me how much Stravinsky was influenced by Debussy. We studied nocturnes and in those works you could hear where Stravinsky borrowed when writing "the rite of spring". Terry showed me all that and I am a better musician and composer because of terry. Thank you terry. I am forever grateful. Cheers!!!

So much accomplished; so much unfinished...music, conversation, wine. A long time since those first gigs in the '60s to the new music you were working on so recently. You were loved and you will be missed, but we have such beautiful music remaining.

On September 7, 2012 Terry posted this Leonard Bernstein quote on his Facebook page.
"This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before."
Terry leaves the world a life time of music made intensely, beautifully and devotedly. Thank you to him and his family for nurturing, expressing and sharing these incomparable gifts with all of us who have been touched by them. May peace be with you all.

Such a horrible way to lose my childhood friend. He was so talented and such a celebrity in the world of music but such a down to earth guy. We were to have dinner together next week, I will follow through with that dinner date in Terry's honor.

Terry, I miss you my friend. I respected your talent so much. I never told you that. I wish with all my heart that we could make all the musical ideas that we had together come true. I'm immeasurably saddened by your absence in this world. My life was changed when you entered it and it has profoundly changed now that you're gone. I miss your humor, your insight, your larger than life presence. I'll miss pissing you off too...you are so one of a kind, irreplaceable, you wear the shoes no one can fill. My love to you...you are deeply missed.

It was a tremendous honor and blessing to make contact with Terry the past few years. One unique honor that Terry and I had in common was the Chamberlain chief/drum major position. Terry's creative genius was displayed as he was the first to wear the headdress and carry the "coup stick" (spear). It became the icon remembered with love and pride by all graduates. His talent remains with us in recordings and music compositions. To the Plumeri family, may your memories be sweet as you reflect on Gods gift and gentle personality of this man. Our prayers of comfort are with you.

May you RIP Terry. Wish I had met you, as I believe you are a distant relative of mine. My Grandfather Carlo Plumeri, was born in Villalba, Sicily, settled in Florence, Penn and worked in the coal mines. Eventually he moved to the Chicago area. My sympathies to your family. Sounds like you were a great man.
