NELSON, III, EUGENE
Mr. Eugene Nelson, III age 45, passed away April 29, 2020 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1992, in St. Mary's, GA, attended Daytona Community College, and was employed with was employed with Jackson Hewitt as a Tax Preparer.
He is survived by his mother, Sarah Nelson, father, Eugene Nelson, Jr. (Elisa), both of Gainesville, FL, siblings, Dymetrius Wilson Nelson (Shantel), Gainesville, FL, Ethan E. Nelson, Gainesville, FL, Everett Nelson, Ocala, FL, grandmother, Elder Maurice Howard, Citra, FL, numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and caring friends.
Graveside Services for Mr. Nelson will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gainesville, FL, Elder Eddie General, Eulogist; burial will follow immediately following the Service. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL.
Mr. Nelson will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, and at Graveside on Saturday, from 10:00am until the hour of Service. Due to the Executive Order form the Governor, we must remain vigilant and keep a safe distance from each other, and do not linger outside after viewing. We ask that you keep this in mind when viewing.
Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at 10:30am.

When we work together Burger King on Archer Road we spent a couple of years there together I had so much fun you were the light in the building always always smiling always laughing I will never forget your smile I would say that I'm sorry that you're gone but I know you are so happy where you are I love you Eugene and I did make a request and I hope that you will be my spirit guide when it's my time to go I was just thinking about you today I love you I miss you I wish I would have known sooner godspeed my friend and I know you're smiling from heaven and there's a lot of rain today but you know what it never bothered you until I see your sweet smiling face again I love you Eugene I miss you but I also know in my heart exactly how happy you are

Today I found out you passed away I'll never forget how much fun I had working with you at Burger King in Gainesville even though I was your boss you were still my best friend I could share anything with you knowing that you are not going to talk about it to anyone else you were there at my high times and at my low times he gave me strength you made me laugh you made me laugh so hard you took my birds to your home and in turn you left me with gifts a beautiful statue of a lady he said reminded you of me a set of chopsticks and a toaster this was all back 2002 and believe it or not I still have all of them it was me passing by the statue today that made me stop and say Hey Eugene I wonder what you're up to and now I know but I also know why all the beautiful birds are coming to my porch it's a sign from you that you're still here the beautiful and strong cardinal that stands so Regal in the tree I know it's you I found a beautiful wind chart that says Whispers from heaven and I didn't think anyone was talking to me because I haven't heard it but today I did and it's you I know that you're resting in the arms of Jesus so I will not miss you but I will always think of you and know that I will see you again I love you Eugene I always did I always will thank you for stopping by today and touching my soul just so let me know that you're okay
