GERTRUDE BESS Obituary
Mrs. Gertrude Bess, age 77, passed away December 25, 2018 at Legace Hospice House in Ocala, FL. Mrs. Bess was a member of New St. Lewis Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of A.L. Mebane High School, Alachua, FL. Mrs. Bess was preceded in death by her son; Clinton Walker; siblings, Lola Latson, Bobbie Jean Webb, Corine Webb, Roosevelt Webb and Richard Webb.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Bess, Ocala, FL, children; Reginald Walker (Katrina Mosley), Willie Walker, Patricia Wilkerson (Herbert, all of Ocala, FL Alberta Garrison, Tampa, FL, Lee Mingo, Annette Walker, both of Dunnellon, FL, siblings; Henrietta Spann, Archer, FL, Marie Robinson, Melvina Robinson, Glovine Godbolt (Randy), all of Gainesville, FL, and Josephine Anderson, Miami, FL, sixteen grandchildren, and thirty-seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bess will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Female Protective Temple, Rev. Josephus Byrum, Officiating; burial will follow in St. Mark Cemetery, Newberry, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida.
Mrs. Bess will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 4th, 2019 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, and on Saturday at the Temple from 10:00am until the hour of Service. Family and friends are asked to meet on Saturday at 5485 N.W. 11th Street, Ocala, FL 34482 at 10:00am to form the Cortege.
