Kaye Combs Obituary
Kaye E. Combs, 66, of Alachua passed away at her home on December 04, 2008. She had been a lifelong resident of Alachua. She had been a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Garvin K. Combs: 2 daughters: Dana Shiskin of Alachua, and Julie Rye of Alachua; 3 brothers: Charles Emerson of High Springs, Johnny Emerson and Jimmy Emerson both of Alachua. 3 sisters: Linda Riviere and Joye Emerson both of Alachua and Kelley Vaughn of Gainesville: 4 grandchildren: Megan Shiskin, Emma Shiskin, Mathew Rye and Hailey Rye.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, PL 32606-3809.
Services will be held on Monday, December 08, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Spring Hill United Methodist Church at Traxler with Rev. James Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Alachua. Visitation will be held at Spring Hill United Methodist Church, 23300 Old Bellamy Rd. Alachua, on Sunday December 7, 2008 from 3 to 5 PM.
Arrangements are in the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home.

Dear Family, Am going to Fl Jan. 2 and decided to locate cousins. Came across Kaye's death. Am so sad to read about Kaye's death. I'm daughter of Dews and Fannie Lanier. Kaye is my age. I visited in her home as a teenager and later with my husband and children. Our family was very fond of all.......JD and Elba and Ralph and Mildred. Please any family members contact me. We are sorry to hear about your loss. Ms Kaye was a very sweet lady and everytime we saw her, she was always smiling. But rest assured that Heaven is smiling bigger now since gaining a new Angel. We can relate to what you're going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. The days ahead will be the hardest when everyone seems to get back in to their daily routines. If there's anything at all we can do, please let us know. We love you all....

I REMEBER KAYE FROM GRAMMAR SCHOOL IN ALACHUA IN THE 1950'S, I SHARED SEVERAL CLASSES WITH HER. SHE WAS A KIND PERSON AND I HAVE FOND MEMORIES OF HER. HAVE FAITH IN GOD, WE WILL SEE HER AGAIN.

Garvin,Dana,and Julie,
I believe that Kaye's life touched so many people. I was at the visitation yesterday and the amount of people who turned out to show their respect, shows the way, she touched so many lives. She always had a beautiful smile and a kind word. She was a wonderful lady who raised two beautiful precious girls. Your families are very special to me and I love each of you. Lean on others to get you through this time and take comfort in knowing Kaye is with our Lord and Savior. To the extended family you all are in my prayers and you know how I feel about each of you.
