LOIS DAVIS Obituary

DAVIS, LOIS C.

On June 10, 2011, Lois C. Davis, 84, passed away peacefully with her children at her side. Ms. Davis was a beloved resident at the Village. She played the piano by ear and loved to entertain her many friends with the songs of her generation.

She was born in Roanoke, Va. on August 17, 1926 to the late Minor and Lily Crawford. In 1952, she married the late David A. Davis, Sr., moved to Florida and lived several years in Gainesville, helping her husband graduate from University of Florida College of Law. They later settled in Bushnell where she lived for over fifty years. Mrs. Davis served as the official court reporter for Sumter, Hernando and Citrus counties for over twenty years. She was a founding member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Bushnell. She is survived by her children: Karen Cloud and husband Alan, David A. Davis Jr., William Davis and wife Lore, Blake Davis and wife Cheryl; grandchildren: David Alan Cloud, Tiffany Thomas, Kevin Cloud, Eric Davis and Danielle Davis; and great-grandchildren: Madelyn and Lillian Thomas. She is also survived by her brother, William Crawford sister-in-law Fafe, and her nephews Gordon and Arthur Crawford of Roanoke, Va.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 25th, 2011 at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 313 N Grace St Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, Bushnell, FL. 33513 or the Gainesville Fisher House program for veterans: gainesvillefisherhouse.org .
