MYRTICE RYLE Obituary

RYLE, MYRTICE BECKHAM

Myrtice Beckham Ryle 87, homemaker, was called home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 27, 2009. Born March 22, 1922 in Cairo, Georgia to parents, James Franklin Beckham and Allie Viola Cassels. She had two sisters, Edna Louise Nelson and Foy Mae Bardinelli. Myrtice moved with her family to Miami, Florida around 1925. Her father served as a detective in Miami-Dade County and was killed in the line of duty in February 1928. She attended school in Miami.

She married James Edwards Ryle, who preceded her in death on November 3, 2009, the love of her life for 71 years. Marrying as teenagers, they grew up together sharing many happy and dedicated years. Their home was filled with love, laughter and a strong commitment to each other and their family. They had two children.

Myrtice enjoyed dancing, puzzles, crocheting, sewing, reading, bowling, Gator football and shelling. She made many fishing trips to the Florida Keys and vacations to St. George Island, Florida and the mountains with her family.

As a member of Northwest Baptist Church for over 20 years, she worked in the church library and nursery. She loved her Sunday school class and serving the Lord.

Myrtice was a Girl Scout leader for several years.

Momma was a sweet, kind, patient, loving, understanding lady, who taught us right from wrong. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was an honest, hardworking, Christian woman dedicated to family. She was the heart of our family.

Myrtice is survived by her daughter Helen R. Walker, son James Richard Ryle, granddaughters Dianne W. Haygood, Sandra L. Gillis (Jody), great grandchildren Melanie Richards, Sara E. Haygood, Sean Gillis, and Zane Gillis, great- great grandson Joseph Richards as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 30 from 5-7 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 1 at Northwest Baptist Church, 5514 NW 23rd Avenue. Entombment will be in Forest Meadows Central Mausoleum.
