SAMUEL JONES Obituary
Mr. Samuel Jones, Sr., age 83, passed away April 2, 2011 at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL. Mr. Jones moved to Gainesville from Ruskin, Florida sixty-six years ago. He was a member of Open Door Ministries, and worked in Construction as a Cement Finisher until his retirement.
Mr. Jones is survived by his children; Rev. Samuel Jones, Jr. (Margaret), John Jones (Claretta), Barbara Jones (Nathaniel), Bettie Jones, Agnes Clemons, Jennifer Jones, Jessika Jones, all of Gainesville, FL, sisters; Irene Davis, Carrie Bell Clark, both of Gainesville, FL, Ernestine Holmes, Palmetto, FL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Dr. N. Lamont Newsome, Pastor, John Jones, officiating; interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Chestnut Funeral Home, Inc., 18 N.W. 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL.
Mr. Jones will repose in the Chestnut Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2-7pm, and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00am until the hour of service. Family and friends are asked to meet at Open Door Ministries on Saturday at 10:15am to form the cortege.

I know that Mr. Jones will be missed by his family, neihbors and friends. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I know that you realize your loss is God's gain. I grew up knowing Mr. Sam and will always remember that he baked my wedding cake When he and my mother worked togehter at the College Inn.
