Edward Lester Ingram Obituary

Mr. Edward "Ed" Lester Ingram, 84 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2 with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Nix, the Rev. Darin Cain and the Rev. Matt Stowers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.

Mr. Ingram was a lifelong resident of Hall County and was the son of the late Harve Ingram and Lily Harrison Ingram. He was a 1944 graduate of Riverbend High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Beginning in 1963, he has been the owner and operator of Ingram Plumbing Company. He was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2 and a member of the church choir. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Tara Ingram; brothers, Jack Ingram, Ralph Ingram and Bill Ingram; and sister, Johnnie Baker.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Oliver Ingram; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Laquitta Ingram, both of Gainesville; daughter, Vicki Ingram Payne of Warne N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beverly Ingram of Gainesville; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Ingram; Julie and Josh Evans; Jill Ingram, all of Gainesville; Jamie Payne; Warne, N.C.; Natalie Payne Miller Hayesville, N.C.; Amanda and Jason Banks of Gainesville; Joy Ingram, Dustin and Kristin Ingram and Grayson Ingram, all of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Darrien Ingram, Claire Evans, K.J. Merritt, Caroline Evans, all of Gainesville; Tyler Miller of N.C.; Eli Banks, Victoria Rider, and Christopher Jones, all of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Aretta "Brownie" and Howell Smallwood of Gainesville; brother-in-law and wife, Rogers and Irene Oliver; sisters-in-law, Mabel Martin and Winnell Hulsey; sister-in-law and husband, Joyce and Emory Forrester; sisters-in-law, Peggy Oliver and Kathleen Ingram.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dewberry Baptist Church No. 2 at 1007 Holly Drive Apt. 402, Gainesville, GA, 30501 or Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Prkwy, Gainesville, GA, 30501.

To the Ingram family:
We are sorry to hear about Mr. Ingram passing away. Its so nice that his last thought was of you all with him. God has also experienced the loss of his son. Just like in that situation nothing was able to prevent him from raising his son up, nothing now can prevent the resurection from occuring again. (Reveation 21:3,4) I hope the family receives further encouragement from other friends and family members during this difficult time.
