Marie Elizabeth DeLong Obituary

Mrs. Marie Elizabeth DeLong, 85, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at a private health care center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, from the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Irvin will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral Home.

Mrs. DeLong was born on March 20, 1924, to the late Earl and Beatrice Chandler Hearn. She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Marc Diaz; and granddaughter, Margaret Ann White. Mrs. DeLong was a member of the White County Historical Society and Harvest Christian Church. Her favorite hobby was quilting.

Survivors include her husband, Archie W. DeLong, Cleveland; daughter, Gloria Watson, Duluth; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Bob White, Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410.
