Nov. 30, 1984-Oct. 18, 2017

Mark Mitchell Ham V of Gainesville, Ga., passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2017, at the age of 32. Mark is survived by his parents, Mark M. Ham IV and Eugenia Ham of Gainesville, Ga., and his two children Elijah Christopher Ham (9) and Mary Katherine Elizabeth Ham (3). He also leaves behind a sister, Jenny Givens, her husband Scott, and their two children Maddie and James; his grandmother, Gloria R. Langford; his aunt and uncle, Faith and Richard Huff, and their three children; his aunt, Beth Nunnally of Athens, Ga., and her son, as well as his Godparents Marsh and Becky Benson of Lincolnton, Ga., and their two children. He is preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Mark M. Ham III and Nadine Ham of Gainesville, as well as his maternal grandfather, James Langford of Athens.

Mark was born in Gainesville, Ga., on November 30, 1984, to parents Mark and Eugenia Ham, where he lived most of his life. He took great pride in being a fifth generation member at First Baptist Church. He attended North Georgia College and State University where he was a Sigma Chi and graduated from Troy State University with a degree in business. He valued family more than anything and his children were the center of his universe. He was a loyal and caring son, brother and friend.

Funeral arrangements are being provided by Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, Ga. Visitation will be held Sunday October 22 from 4-6 p.m. at Little & Davenport and the funeral service will take place in the chapel of First Baptist Church Gainesville on Green Street on Monday October 23 at 11 a.m. Dr. Bill Coates and Stephen Partrick will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Mark loved his yard and flowers. Flowers for the service will be appreciated but, if desired, in lieu of flowers contributions may be made at any United Community Bank to the Mark Ham V Children Education Benefit Fund.
