Darrell Goad Obituary
He was born in Roanoke, Va., to the late Thomas Wert and Viola Della Burnette Goad.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Austin Goad of the home; brother, Maurice R. Goad of Hillsville; sisters, Frances M. Horton of Hillsville, Alice A. Stanley of Galax, Margie D. McMillan of Draper and Darelene Hollandsworth of Daleville.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Sonny had a heart of gold. He never knew a stranger. oh how he loved to pick on people. He use to drive me crazy. ( In a good way.)Teresa you were the love of his life. I am so glad he had you. I am sorry to hear of Sonny's passing. I knew him about 40 years ago when he, Lynn and I were young single guys that would get together on weekends and keep the roads hot. He was always a nice guy.

Dear Theresa and Goad family, a special person was lost today. Sonny was a loyal husband, brother, uncle and friend. Full of life, loved kids that showed through his love of coaching baseball. He was instrumental in getting Kevin on Spraque's little league baseball team. Theresa you were the special light in Sonny's eye. A love like yours and Sonny's occurs once in a lifetime.
