Larry Linkous Obituary

Larry Anderson Linkous Sr., 72, of Speedwell, Va., went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017.
He was the son of the late F.J. and Nina Bell Linkous.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Shipwash Linkous; five children, Carol Smallwood and husband Brian of Rural Retreat, Va., Bucky Linkous and wife Karen of Speedwell, Va., Mark Linkous and wife Karen of Wytheville, Va., Matt Linkous and wife Lisa of Fries, Va., and Adam Linkous and wife Cyndi of Rural Retreat, Va.; three sisters, Shirley Linkous Williams of Speedwell, Va., Ila Linkous Groseclose of Christiansburg, Va. and Mellie Linkous Meadows of Speedwell, Va.; two brothers, Nelson Linkous and wife Barbara of Bluewell, W.Va., and Jimmy Linkous and wife Brenda of Speedwell, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved congregations at Brumley Gap and Greendale Methodist churches that he pastored for the past 19 years.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Asbury Methodist Church, 163 Asbury Church Rd., Rural Retreat, Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Derek Cowan and Steve Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Linkous Family Cemetery, Speedwell, Va.
