John Averill Obituary
He was born May 7, 1932 in DuBois to Sanford and Beatrice (Wilson) Averill who preceded him in death.
He married Pauline "Polly" Benghauser on July 27, 1953. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons. John Averill, Jr. and his wife Crystal and William "Bill" Averill, both of DuBois; grandson Jonah Averill; "adopted grandsons" D.J. Clark and Bryton Averill as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Jones and a brother, Sanford Averill, Jr.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 20, at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Corbin Russell officiating.

Bill, Mrs Averill, John and extended family. I just wanted to let you guys know how sorry I was to hear of Mr. Averill's passing. Coach Averill was one of my first football coaches and inspired me well along my way to having a pretty good career at the game we loved. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you work through this difficult time.
