John Odgers Obituary

John D. "Doug" Odgers, age 77 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. in Johnstown, PA.

Born on July 22, 1947 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late John C. and Vida Mae (Strayer) Odgers.

On May 22, 1971, he married his wife of 53 years, Deborah (Hilliard) Odgers. She survives.

Doug received a Bachelor of Science degree in Theology from Lancaster Bible College.

He retired in 2017 as an over the road truck driver for REV Hoopes Trucking after 20 years of service. Along with his wife Debbie, he served as a missionary to the Native American population in Manitoba, Canada for 9 years.

Doug attended Treasure Lake Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and Civil War history.

Along with his wife, Doug is survived by his children (Fawn Flint and her husband Demarcus of McKeesport, PA, Erin Chew and her husband Jacob of Singapore and Kurt Odgers of DuBois, PA), one brother (Craig Odgers and his wife Sandy of Johnstown, PA), one sister (Debbie Enterline and her husband Gary of Mt. Joy, PA), ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons (Shawn and Ian Odgers).

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1 PM from Treasure Lake Church with Pastor David Ginn officiating.

The service will be live streamed and can be viewed by going to treasurelakechurch.org.

Doug and I ran a lot of miles together at Kepharts .He was one of the greatest people I was ever lucky to meet in my lifetime.
