Lois Shenkle Obituary

Lois M. Shenkle formerly of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, passed away in Jacksonville, Florida following a short decline in health.

Lois was the loving wife of Donald H. Shenkle who preceded Lois to Heaven on August 15, 2006.

Born on March 20, 1927 in DuBois, Pennsylvania, Lois was the daughter of James W. Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth Peltz. Lois was the sister of the late James Thomas Jr.

Lois was a devoted wife and mother and a highly skilled executive secretary. Working in organizations ranging from the Pennsylvania Game Commission, to St. Mark's Elementary School in Maryland, to the University of Maryland University College.

Lois enjoyed many activities including costume design, supporting the St. Mark's Christmas Bazar, and handmaking Christmas and other holiday ornaments. Blessed with an intelligent and active mind Lois had an interest in History, politics, dance, and classic films.

Lois is survived by her son Roger Shenkle and Linda Miller and her daughter and son-in-law Lisa A. and Richard Schiappacasse.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 from 10 AM until 11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will follow at 11 AM from the funeral home with Fr. John Malthaner officiating.

Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
