Eugene Sanders Obituary
He was a native of Macon County, born December 16, 1942 to the late Lawrence Sanders and Pauline Bates Martin.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Sanders, granddaughter, Brandi Knutsen, great grandson Nathan Sanders, sisters, Brenda Kelly, Diane Samples, Margie Hill, brother, Harold Sanders.
Eugene retired from Freightliner, Mt. Holly with over 24 years of service. Eugene enjoyed racing, football and especially the Charlotte Panthers. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 55 years, Marion Turner Sanders; his daughters, Robin (Jerry) Garmon and Donna Sanders; grandsons, Robbie (Sabrina) Sanders, Steven Sanders and fiancée Ashley Hartsoe, Sean Sanders; great grandkids, Colby, Corey, Madison, Chase, Hannah, Tyler and Bentlee Sanders Noah and Grayson Knutsen; sister, Paulette Haynes, Sandy Martinez; brothers, Wayne and Dewey Sanders, Kenny Grant.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Richard Cole officiating.
Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with the Releasing of the Doves.
Pallbearers will be Robbie, Steven and Sean Sanders, Jerry Garmon, Joe Haynes,
Billy Howard and Jeremy Haynes.
