Harvey McElveen Obituary
Born in Gastonia, he was the son of the late Franklin Shelby McElveen and Gladys Louise Dishroon McElveen.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McElveen is preceded in death by his brothers, Claude McElveen and Frank McElveen; brothers-in-law, Glenn Cagle and Paul Kerr; sisters-in-law, Bonnie McElveen and Elaine McElveen.
Mr. McElveen is survived by his companion of 25 years, Judy Nicholas; children and their spouses, Deborah and Chad Mason of Dallas, Bryan and Summer McElveen of Gastonia, Brian Nicholas of Amsterdam, Holland, Amy and Matt Yallof of Armonk, NY, Lisa Taylor of Shelby; grand-children, Brittany, Jordan, Devin, Braxton, Alexis, Veston, Isabella, Alex and Abbey; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Keagan and Ryder; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Cagle, Etta and Donald Smith, Wanda and Bobby McBee, all of Gastonia; brothers and sister-in-law, Dean McElveen, Roy and Sharon McElveen, all of Gastonia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends of Harvey McElveen are invited to attend his funeral service beginning 2 p.m. Friday from the Founders Chapel of Mclean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
The Rev. James Chambers will officiate.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
