Hazel Hayes Obituary
Born in Yadkin County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Beulah Renegar Speer. She was the widow of Daniel Hayes.
Mrs. Hayes retired as a supervisor after thirty-eight years at Ball-Incon Inc. She was a devoted mem-ber of Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. After moving to Kings Mountain, she attended Favor Center Church.
Hazel will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. Her life spoke of integrity and love for God and His Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Revs. Cleveland Harrison and Mitch Nichols. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are a sister, Bernice S. Podaras of Kings Mountain; five nieces, Darlene Knighten and hus-band Steve of Gastonia, Janet Newman and husband Chuck of Belmont, Sheila Hayes and husband Den-is of Kings Mountain, and Leah Hardin and husband Todd of Kings Mountain, Ruthy James and husband Steve of Gastonia, and a nephew, Bill Podaras of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by a niece, Re-bekah Podaras.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Steve Knighten, Chuck Newman, Denis Hayes, Steve James, Todd Hardin, Richard Jarrell, Zachary Hayes, and Nicholas Hayes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Janelle Jackson, 235 Yowland Road, Henderson, NC 27536; or to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.
