Just Wanted to Share with each of you the Eulogy read at Steve's Service:
As I was gathering the things I needed for the funeral, I found a jewelry box tucked away in the back of Steve's chest of drawers. Upon opening the box, I found a folded piece of paper with the following scripture.
Mark 10:6-9 (The scripture engraved in Steve's Wedding Band)....
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For thi cause shall a man leave his Father and Mother, and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
....I then thought of our wedding vows, and the promise we made to each other..
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. to love and to cherish from this day forward, til death do us part.
Death has now called and we are now parted. My days are now filled with sadness. My heart is now filled with sorrow. My eyes are now filled with tears, my dreams are now filled with memories.
This is not the journey i would have chosen, not the path I would have taken, not the trial I would have wanted, but I thank God for the journey for I know it was to make me strong.
Through all this, I am reminded that Love is a sacrifice. A vow is something you keep. Memories never die. Faith is all you need. It's OK to cry.
I'm going to miss Steve, my husband, my friend, the father of my child. But there is a God we answer to and Steve heard God calling his name and has now crossed that Chilly Jordan. His body is healed and he has been restored to the days of his youth.
When I pillow my head tonight, I have peace in knowing My Love was unconditional.
I leave you with this verse of scripture: 1st Corinthians 2:9

We never met Steve but what we so much learnt from our daughter Ila and son-in-law DJ about him makes us wish we had.
What a wonderful life!
