Michael Paszek Obituary
Hatfield, MA - Michael Francis Paszek, born February 28, 1958, son of Marguerite Boyle and Michael Frank Paszek, passed away peacefully on September 9th. His wife of 37 years, Ellen Bokina Paszek and daughter Jenna were by his side at Brigham & Women's Hospital Shapiro Cardiovascular Center in Boston, after a prolonged hospitalization. For the past 20 years, Michael battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma twice, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure and the complications related to these conditions. Michael was a warrior throughout this time.
He attended Hatfield schools, Holyoke Community College, University of Massachusetts Amherst and Northeastern University concentrating in business and finance. Michael was an Eagle Scout and an active member of the Hatfield community, serving on a variety of town government boards and committees.
He started his working career on the farm in Hatfield. He was integral in working with his uncles on the Boyle Tobacco Farm for years. Michael worked in several business managerial and consulting capacities, most notably at Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Associates, Inc., his wife's practice in Northampton.
Michael's greatest joy was raising his daughter as she was the major priority in his life. From coaching her youth lacrosse teams to being her biggest fan watching her playing both field hockey and lacrosse at the college level. He also enjoyed traveling, trips to the beach, swimming, cooking, reading, watching New England sports teams, and spending time with friends and loved ones.
He leaves a lasting impression upon his family and friends of his toughness and ability to endure and make the best of whatever life brought his way. It was his wish and his family's, to acknowledge and thank all those involved in his care, doctors, nurses and all the allied health professionals who worked so hard on his behalf.
Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ellen, daughter Jenna, and sister Mary Ellen Tacy.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 16th, with Calling Hours from 10-11:30am at Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street in Easthampton followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30am with Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Hatfield. Mike was a thoughtful and kind, gentle man, who voiced opinions or concerns at Planning Board meetings. always well prepared. My deepest condolences to Ellen and Jenna who stayed close by during his long illness. Rest in peace Michael. You are very missed.

To Ellen, Jenna and Mary Ellen as well as the rest of mike's extended family...you have my deepest condolences on Mike's passing. We had worked together on tobacco a few summers and would bump into each other ounce in a while and Mike was one of the good ones.
