Albert Wirth Obituary
Born on January 23, 1938, Al graduated from Baker Union High School and went on to attend Eastern Oregon State College. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960.
Al began his professional journey at SWF Plywood Mill on the production line before transitioning into sales. In 1977, he joined Boise Cascade in Portland, where he enjoyed a successful career. Later, he worked for Wood International, selling plywood internationally and traveling extensively throughout Europe. He concluded his career at Bohemia in Eugene. Over the years, Al built lasting friendships within the wood products industry and remained in touch with many colleagues long after retirement.
On April 21, 1962, Al married DeLoris (Powell) in Stevenson, Washington. They shared 62 years of marriage before her passing in December 2024. Together they raised three sons-Brad, Bryan, and Greg-and created a life filled with boating, camping, hunting, and cherished holiday gatherings.
Al is lovingly remembered by his sons Bryan Wirth (Tammi) and Greg Wirth (Shauna); grandchildren Krystle Henderson (Jered), Amy Stoddard (Eric), Kody Wirth (McKenzie), Nathan Wirth (Sophia), Jennifer Manuel (Kari), Lyndsey Zapalac (Danny), Kimberly Gerber (Chris), and Mitchel Wirth; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife DeLoris; son Brad; parents Joseph and Inez Wirth; brothers Harold and Lewis Wirth; and sister Arleta Turner.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on January 23, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. A Celebration of Life for both Al and DeLoris will follow at the Ale & Cider House in West Linn.
Al will be fondly remembered for his sharp memory, warm winks, and the joy he found in time spent with family.
