Andrew Barnes Obituary

Andrew Douglas Barnes

May 30, 1984 - December 7, 2024

Andrew Douglas Barnes, age 40, of Corvallis, Oregon, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Andrew was born May 30, 1984, in California to Jeffrey Barnes and Gail Mathieson. Andrew was always active and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and playing on the water. He was passionate about sports since childhood, including golf, soccer, baseball, and motocross. His love of sports and his competitive nature led him to playing many years on both men's and co-ed city league softball teams.

Andrew's greatest joy came from his children, watching them grow and teaching them how to live an abundant and adventurous life. He created many memories with his children that they will cherish forever, which include going fishing, learning how to hunt, surfing on the lake, camping trips, family dance parties, and many others. He loved spending time with his family and friends, traveling, cooking and eating good food, music, concerts and sporting events. Andrew was generous and devoted to those he loved. He was strong-willed, passionate, driven, hard-headed, and stubborn, but with that came a very caring and genuine heart.

One of Andrew's proudest accomplishments was his journey to sobriety, a path he walked for over a decade with determination and grace. During this time, he inspired many with his strength, understanding, and commitment to living authentically. Though life presented its challenges, his dedication to growth and the connections he built with others in recovery left an enduring mark on those who knew him.

Andrew studied Construction Engineering Management at Oregon State University and later on co-founded and built Ironhead Roofing. Ironhead Roofing has received several awards throughout the years. Most recently, Andrew and his business partner won Roofing Technology Think Tank's 2024 Innovator of the Year award. He also recently expanded his business to include Ironhead Exteriors.

Andrew is survived by his three children: Jasmine Barnes, Evelyn Barnes, and Julian (JJ, Bubba) Barnes; two bonus children: Kinsley Krueger and Rylee Holman; fiancé, Bryana Holman; first wife and mother to Evelyn and JJ, Beth Anne Johnson; mother to Jasmine, Ashly Koopman. He is also survived by his father, Jeffrey Barnes (wife, Anne-Marie Barnes); mother, Gail Mathieson; and brother, Chris Barnes (wife, Alicia Cappola).

A celebration of Andrew's life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at the Philomath Scout Lodge.
