Kathy Sue Ferguson, 61, of Toledo died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Dec. 13, 2009, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
She was born June 11, 1948, in Corvallis to William "Harvey" Wallace and Elsie J. Snyder Wallace.
She graduated from Toledo High School in 1966. She lived and worked in Lincoln County all of her life, working at the Best Western hotel in Newport for the last 13 years.
She was a member of the Abundant Life Center and the Sunnyridge Grange, and was active in the Democratic party. She was a 32-year member of the Toledo Eagles Auxiliary, where she worked her way through the chairs from Madam Outside Guard to the office of Madam President in 1991 and 1992.
For the last four years, she held the office of Madam Treasurer and Chairperson for the Auxiliary Charity for the Toledo Food Bank.
She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, crafts, charity work and her family.
She married Eugene P. Ferguson on Dec. 21, 1974, in Bellfountain.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Sue Ferguson II, in 1979; her father, William "Harvey" Wallace, in 1999; and her husband, Eugene P. Ferguson, in 2000.
She is survived by her mother, Elsie J. Snyder Wallace, of Toledo; her son, Peter Ferguson of Toledo; her brother, William H. Wallace II, and wife, Debbie, of Albany; her sister, Karen McKibben, of Toledo; her sister, Ruth Boddy, of Toledo; her sister, Rosemary Russell, and husband, Bob, of Toledo; her sister, Juanita Short, and husband, Chris, of Toledo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Dec. 28 at the Abundant Life Center, 1154 N.W. "A" St., Toledo.
Memorial donations can be made to Peter Ferguson in care of West Coast Bank, 222 N.W. Highway 20, Toledo 97391. Services are entrusted into the care of Affordable Burial & Cremation Co.
