Omar Rex Baade

Omar Rex Baade Albany, WI - Omar Rex Baade, age 88, of Albany passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on May 10, 1936 the son of Lester and Edna (Marsden) Baade in St. James, MN. He was a graduate of St. James High School. On May 31, 1957 Omar married Jane Brown in Truman, MN; they shared 66 years together. Omar wore many hats in life. He was a dairy farmer, he worked on hog farms, drove milk-can truck and semi for 7-UP; he also worked in a machine shop, sold farm machinery, and was a handyman. Omar loved our Lord and was a dedicated Elder and Deacon in the church. He also loved singing in the choir. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with people, especially his family. He showed no favoritism towards members of his family, he loved them all equally. Omar is survived by his children, Gloria (Ron) Kretzer of Lakeland, FL, Tim (Cindy) Baade of Roscoe, IL, and Scott (Jody) Baade of Albany; son-in-law, Gary Nyman of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Melissa, Eric, Meghan, Matthew, Diana, Stephanie, and Gavin; and four great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Gael, Cohen, and Breken. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; daughter, Sandy Nyman; one brother; and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Footville Church of Christ. Visitation will be held, at the church, Saturday, November 16th from 10AM until the time of service. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
