Stephen T. Garry

Janesville, WI - Stephen T. Garry, age 76, died on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. He was born in Beloit, WI, on April 25, 1949, the son of Thomas E. and Eunice (Sprecher) Garry. Stephen graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1968. He joined the United States Navy, serving from 1969 until 1973, in Pearl Harbor and Subic Bay on the USS McKearn and USS Epperson. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation. Stephen married the love of his life, Carol Shock on January, 5, 1985, at the Central Christian Church.

Stephen lived in Janesville and worked at Mr. Steak and General Motors, retiring on December 31, 2006. He loved to fly, holding a private pilot license. Stephen also loved trains and had an extensive model train collection. A family affair, building RC planes was a cherished pastime. He was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church. He will be especially remembered for being a loyal, dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol; son, Thomas (Tricia) Garry; step children: Amy Ludens, Brenda (Randy) Hastings, Lori Houston and Gary (Jodie) Houston; granddaughter, Sabrina; brother, David (Sue) Garry; sister, Vicki (David) Froemming and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Garry; step children: Julie Ludens and Dana Ludens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Friday, October 3, 2025, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mt.
