Godufredo Gomez Olmos

1921 - 2025

Godufredo Gomez Olmos was born in Tlachichila, Zacatecas, Mexico.

In 1969, Godufredo and his beloved wife, Ema C. Gomez moved to Gilroy, CA. Married for more than 65 years. He picked fruit at the Filices Ranch and later worked at the Joseph Gubster Garlic Company as a machinist, where he eventually retired.

Though he never had children of his own, Godufredo was the beloved patriarch of a vast family. He played a central role in the lives of those around him, in every way that truly mattered.

He delighted in life's simple pleasures, gardening, visiting casinos, playing poker, and scratching lottery tickets. But more than anything, he cherished time with his family, especially at the Olmos Ranch.

On July 31, 2025, Godufredo passed away peacefully at the remarkable age of 104.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ema; his brothers Bernardino, Adulfo, Antonio, and Santiago; his sisters Modesta Gonzalez and Isabel Olmos. He is survived by his sisters Teresa Muñoz and Maria De Los Angeles Gomez, along with countless loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy, CA, on Sunday, August 10, 2025 with a private service at 2:00 p.m., a public gathering at 3:00 p.m. and vigil at 5:00 p.m.

A Mass will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, followed by a procession to St. Mary's Cemetery.
