Cheryl, I think about you so often and I am so grateful for the life lessons you taught me.
You are so missed and were such a bright beautiful light in this world and I´m sure you are the same dancing on the streets of gold in heaven. You deserve the very best. You were the most inspirational, genuine person I have ever known. I´m sorry for all you had to endure in the end, you deserved much better than that. I love you and I miss you so incredibly much.

She was a classy lady. Not in a designer handbag way...(as if!) but in how she showed respect to everyone. One of the lessons Mom used to preach was a message about food. How to be appreciative of the food we have, especially when we are presented with food that someone has prepared and provided us. She taught that we should be grateful and appreciative, never stating our dislikes, but to be gracious. As kids we were never allowed to say "I don't like..." we were to say, (and only if we were asked mind you) that this particular food wasn't our favorite. She taught me so many lessons about how to be a gracious person and to truly do unto others. I miss you Mom! I hope you are holding your first grandchild, Miles and dancing with him like you did with me as a child. Thank you for being such a great mother and person in general. You are one classy lady and you are loved and missed.

Cheryl was like chocolate -- Richly satisfying and Good for me.
I am yet:
Challenged by her faith --genuine & solid
Benefitted by her wisdom -- true & nonjudgmental
Comforted by her support - steady & assuring
Laughing because of her wit -- contagious & disarming
Awestruck by her large circle of friends -- loyal & caring
As my friend & sister in Christ she:
Taught me -- Patiently
Encouraged me -- Endlessly
Nurtured me -- Lovingly
Cared for me & mine -- Selflessly
She Loved me & I her.
I am & always will be richer for it.
I guess that makes her better than chocolate! And if I can get her to stop dancing long enough, I plan to tell her the next time I see her . . .
All our love & prayers to family & friends,

We knew Cheryl while we attended School of Evangelism, YWAM's school in Lausanne, Switzerland. She always made me laugh. I loved her spirit and the way she faithfully followed the Lord. I haven't seen her in many years, so I remember her more like she is right now in heaven--a vibrant young woman, running and dancing with joy. We'll see you again, Cheryl! Jimmy and Janice Rogers

I really can remember our Cheryl from Lincoln Park and summer's as a lifeguard. I remember her hairstyle and just how pretty she always seemed--and THAT Smile! Later, she told me how she was impressed to pray for Poland and I, for Russia. She helped me make 'sure' that going vegetarian was 'really' what the Lord wanted for me, (or not!) She had some of us 'bratty' teenagers over for cookies and Bible Studies in the mid/late-70's. She was easy to chat with and always interested in what we were learning in school or Life. Cheryl loved people and that is how she REALLY showed me the Lord's way. She was patient and NOT judgmental--SHE LIVED THE WORD! I Love YOU, Sweet Lady and will miss your Smile and Mind and Kind, Fun Way of Living for Our Lord. Dana Carol (Brownlee) Weber.

Cheryl was my first girlfriend (junior high school). We remained good friends throughout her life, although distant ones. I was always inspired by her strength and love for life. She will be remembered by all of us who knew and loved her, and who regret the opportunities we missed to tell her so. Phil Ashby (New York).

Though we left the GJ loop a decade ago, even 50 years wouldn't erase the impact and blessing Cheryl was to Debbie, my sons and I. We miss you, Cheryl, but we we will see you again. "No more tears of pain in [your] eyes; no more fear or shame, for we will be with You, yes we will be with You." song, Eternity. Thanks for everything!

Chery's life was a testimony of God's love. She was a true survivor who found a way to smile no matter what the circumstances were. Cheryl loved her Lord and Savior more than anything and lived to please Him. She was a great mom and was so proud of her children, Wendy, Mary and Jon. It is a great honor to have had her in my life. I will always treasure her friendship.

I did not know Cheryl herself very well; but I am lucky enough to know her children. She was always kind and generous with her time and hospitality. But, more importantly, she raised three funny, loving, amazing people who I am honored to call my friends. Her magnetic energy will endure through them~

While I only knew Cheryl a brief time at Canyon View Vineyard, I will remember her for her witty humor and tremendous strength especially in the midst of adversity. She fought the good fight and finished the race. Praise God she may be with Him in eternity now! May her family and loved ones be comforted.

Cheryl celebrated life in good times and hard times. She loved celebrating life with others. Even when it became harder and harder to get around she still was dedicated to getting out to graduations, weddings, plays...Her wit, humor, kindness and mostly the love she had for her Lord will remain with us all. Dance on!

Thirty Eight years seems like a long time until you look back on a friendship spanning that long and it seems like a blink. Cheryl was one of the wisest and godliest women I have ever known. She was real in her devotion to God and others but not at all candy coated. She was tough to beat at Scrabble and was a gracious hostess. She left an indelible mark on the lives of so many people, as a teacher of children and adults. My life has been enriched by her more than I can put into words. She will be missed and remembered.
