Lynda Mecum Obituary
December 18, 1947 - July 25, 2015
Lynda Lea Mecum, age 67, died at Hospice on July 25, 2015, from a continuing respiratory illness. She was surrounded by family when she peacefully passed away.
She was born in North Platte, Nebraska, where she spent her childhood and attended North Platte High School, where she also met her husband of almost 50 years, Daryld. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Jeanne Longsine.
She is survived by husband, Daryld Mecum; daughters, JoEllen (Tom) Gracey and Dana (Jerry) Meyer; grandchildren, Amber Abeyta, Brandon Gracey, Day-Lah' Johnson, Kaitlyn Atwood, Jr and Jadin Meyer; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl (Ken) Gilmer and Pat Larrechea; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynda's pride and joy was definitely her family.
She managed a few convenient stores; 7-11, KG Foods and Total Petroleum. Lynda later retired after several years as an office manager at Hobby Lobby.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lynda's name to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
