Paul Ernest Archuleta

Paul Ernest Archuleta July 13, 1930 - May 22, 2007 Paul E. Archuleta, age 76, of Grand Junction passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the VA Hospital. Paul was born July 13, 1930 in Pagosa Junction, CO to Joe Onesimo and Delfina May Maez Archuleta. He spent his childhood in Pagosa Junction before the family moved to Grand Junction. In 1948, Paul entered the US Air Force and served until 1952, earning the Korean Service Medal. On July 5, 1952, Paul married Gloria Frances Silva. He owned Archuleta Drywall. When Paul wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching little league, softball, Mexican music and dancing and above all, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Latin-Anglo Alliance. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; sons Michael R. (Jolene) Archuleta and Anthony D. Archuleta; daughters, Paula (Dick) Gross all of Grand Junction; and Deanna D. Archuleta of N. Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lena (Abel) Arellano, Loyola (Dale) Gardner, Sylvia Osborne, Erma (Jim) Lopez and Angie (Bill) Settle; five grandchildren, Darrell L. Gross, Amie Archuleta, Lisa Maldonado, Lyndsay Archuleta and Kyle Archuleta; and eight great grandchildren, Alek J. "Little Guy" Gross, Destiny, Dominique and DeAnn Baca; Shanice, Felix, Jr., Isaac, and Angel Martinez. His parents and brothers, Jim and Joe, preceded him in death. A visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado. Military honors will be provided by the Grand Valley Combined Honor Guard.
